Patient Impact
"The inspiration for PatientImpact started when I was pregnant with my son," explains Patty Riskind, President and CEO. "Despite the close relationship I had with my doctor, I was never asked about the level of care I received or if I was satisfied with it. I thought, 'Wouldn’t it be great for medical patients to have a voice and a say in the way they are treated?'"
Today, thanks to Patty’s tireless efforts and the help of CCV, patients do have a voice. PatientImpact partners with medical providers to capture patient feedback in real time through email, kiosk or paper surveys. The information gathered from the surveys enables physicians to better understand the needs of their patients, to improve their level of service and become more efficient.
In the early stages, Patty knew she would need both financial and advisory assistance to take PatientImpact to the next level. CCV helped her receive a $10,000 grant in 2007, which she used for product development. In addition, she utilized CCV’s business training to learn how to effectively sell and price her product.
Thanks to CCV’s help, PatientImpact has seen phenomenal success in a short period of time—it grew from 20 clients in 2005 to 1,041 in 2007, and now has eight full-time employees! According to Patty, "CCV has helped me with the valuation of my company, with the business plan, pitch and executive summary. They introduced me to venture capitalists and other business advisors. CCV is a real network of support—as a small business owner trying to maneuver through rough waters, they have been extraordinarily helpful. I can’t say enough good things!"
