Place-Based Initiatives

To help communities achieve their goals, CCV partners with community-based organizations to gain an understanding of their vision for their neighborhood's business district. CCV then works with our partners to craft a plan to attract new businesses according to community priorities and provide support to existing businesses to ensure their success. By providing our suite of business services, including access to capital, collectively to area businesses, CCV aims to create a "business infrastructure" that can lead to the development of business associations and incentive programs to attract customers to a shopping/business district and reduce retail leakage in the community.

Current Projects

CCV, the Quad Communities Development Corporation, O-H Community Partners and the Carter Ware Group partner to provide community based services to the Cottage Grove Corridor. The initiative, funded by the Partnership for New Communities, seeks to identify, attract, assist and retain high quality retail and small businesses in the area.

Past Projects

CCV and the Partnership for New Communities partnered to provide a three-year business program, the Small Business Development Initiative, for entrepreneurs in the Near West Side and South Side communities. The initiative provided individual consulting and group instruction to 11 businesses and ultimately resulted in the creation of 49 jobs, retention of 61 jobs and overall revenue increases of 89%.
